Artful Afternoon to Kick Off Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary

Save the Date. On Jan. 8, one month from Thursday, Artful Afternoon will kick of Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary year, which will be the beginning of a year long celebration with movies, dances, art exhibits, festivals and more.

Artful Afternoon's kickoff events will include a performance by Bel Cantanti Opera, the dedication of the "Faces of Greenbelt" ceramic tile art, a studio open house and sale, hands on crafts and more.

It's 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the — and it's free.

You don't have to wait for the day, though, to enter the drawing for two tickets to the performance of your choice at the Greenbelt Arts Center or a gift certificate for pottery by artist in residence and pottery instructor Gina Mai Denn.

You can enter the drawing for free on the City of Greenbelt's online form or at the Greenbelt Community Center art gallery (Room 112) now through 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 8.
