Greenbelt Arts Center Call for Artists

The arts center has a summer art gallery show in store for Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary celebration.

As part of the Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary celebration, the Greenbelt Arts Center is looking for local artists who are interested in displaying their art in a summer gallery show.

The Greenbelt Arts Center (GAC) is excited about Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary, General Manager Betsy Marks Delaney said on Wednesday.

The theme of the summer show is "What Greenbelt Means to Me," and selected artists' works will be showcased at a GAC reception on June 2.

Interested artists may email GAC at—gallery@greenbeltartscenter.org—with a paragraph explaining why their artwork fits GACs theme and with samples of their work. Email submissions should be in a jpeg format or include a link to an artist's online portfolio.

GAC can accept works in all two-dimensional media with a maximum size of 20 inches on the largest dimension.

The deadline for entries is April 30. GAC will accept 12 to 15 works, and in mid-May, it will notify artists whose entries are chosen.

At the reception, Greenbelters and patrons will also get a chance to sign up for volunteer work. Delaney said the arts center has volunteer openings for almost every position.
