Greenbelt Community Center Hosts Artful Afternoon

Enjoy arts, music and more at the Greenbelt Community Center on Sunday.

On Sunday, July 1, check out the for an afternoon of theater, music, crafts and comedy. 

The day will start with vaudeville inspired crafting from 1 to 3 p.m. The crafts will emphasize the work of French filmmaker Georges Melies, one of the first to master special effects, according to Nicole DeWald, the city’s art supervisor.

You’ll also have a chance participate in a drawing for two tickets to the performance of your choice at the . The winners will be picked on Sunday afternoon, but you can enter now through July 1 at 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m., musical theater group Diz and Izzy Aster, Vaudeville’s Late Bloomers will put on a show that will include singing, comedy and musical performances, DeWald says. 

Throughout the afternoon, support local artists and enjoy unique art during community center’s studio open house and sale.
