Greenbelt Crime: Armed Robbery, Attempt to Distribute Drugs in School Zone

Center City

May 14 at 1:38 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Old Calvert Road. Gerardo Garcia Sanchez, 52, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Franklin Park, Beltway Plaza, Greenbelt Metro, Capitol Office Park

May 11 at 10:34 a.m.: Vandalism. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. A window was broken.

At 11:58 a.m.: Vandalism. 9200 block Springhill Lane. A window was broken.

May 11 at 2:24 p.m.: Burglary. 6100 block Springhill Terrace. Electronics, jewelry and currency were taken.

At 4:20 p.m.: Vandalism. 9100 block Springhill Lane. A sliding glass door was broken.

At 4:48 p.m.: Burglary. 9300 block Edmonston Road. Electronics were taken.

At 9:02 p.m.: Vandalism. 5900 block Springhill Drive. A window was broken.

May 12 at 2:58 p.m.: Vandalism. 5900 block Cherrywood Terrace. A door frame was damaged.

At 11:30 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. 6000 block Breezewood Drive. Andre Edwin Mitchell, 30, of Brooklyn Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

May 13 at 1:49 a.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Edmonston Road at Greenbelt Road. Jesus Alberto Roa Mercado, 26, of Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

At 10:49 a.m.: Vandalism. 6100 block Breezewood Court. A sliding glass door was broken.

May 14 at 9:24 p.m.: Vandalism. 6100 block Breezewood Drive. A window was broken.

May 15 at 3:41 p.m.: Drug Arrest. Cherrywood Lane at Breezewood Drive. Ivan Golovin Trittipoe, 49, of Greenbelt, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs in a school zone, possession of drugs – not marijuana, and driving while impaired by drugs, among other charges after a traffic stop. A passenger in the vehicle, Justin Cline Pierce, 31, of Greenbelt, was also charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs in a school zone, possession of marijuana, and possession of drugs – not marijuana. Both suspects were released to the Department of Corrections for a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

At 10:44 p.m.: DUI/DWI Arrest. Kenilworth Avenue at Ivy Lane. Federico Lucas-Juarez, 33, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol, among other charges after a traffic stop. The suspect was released on citations pending trial.

Greenbelt East, Greenway Shopping Center

May 15 at 10:26 a.m.: Burglary. 8100 block Bird Lane. Nothing was taken.

May 17 at 1:43 a.m.: Robbery. 7900 block Good Luck Road. .

Automotive Crime - City Wide

May 11: Theft from Auto. 100 block Northway. A set of rims was taken.

May 13: Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 6100 block Springhill Terrace. A black 2002 Hyundai Sonata with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by Prince George’s County Police. No arrests were made.

May 16: Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 6000 block Springhill Drive. A tan 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe with MD tags was taken. The vehicle was later recovered by Prince George’s County Police. No arrests were made.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle. 200 block Lakeside Drive. A red 1992 Honda Accord with MD tags, reported stolen through Prince George’s County Police, was recovered. No arrests were made.
