Greenbelter Leaves Jeopardy with $28,000
Playing Jeopardy was something Greenbelt resident Jessamine Price had always wanted to do.

On Tuesday, after on Jeopardy, it all came down to a question about Shakespeare's "Hamlet" for Greenbelt resident Jessamine Price, who lives in .
In Final Jeopardy, Alex Trebek read contestants what would be their last question: "After dying, she's described as having 'too much of water', and her brother says, 'therefore I forbid my tears'."
Price, who is an avid reader, and has taught "Hamlet" to students, told Patch on Wednesday, "I've read so many books that my brain was going over all the fictional women that I've ever heard of. And that was a lot."

But the answer wouldn't come. So Price said goodbye to Jeopardy, but not empty-handed. She walked away with total winnings adding up to $28,803.
Although Opehlia's name may have eluded Price, she headed into Final Jeopardy well ahead of her competitors—from answering questions right.

A Sampling of Questions Price Answered on Tuesday's Show:
- (For $2,000) If you're "not of sound mind" to stand trial, you're this 3-word Latin phrase. Price answered correctly—non compos mentis.
- (For $400) Kazanlak, 100 miles east of Sofia in the Valley of Roses of this country, is known for its roses used in perfumes. Price answered correctly—Bulgaria.
- (For $2,000 and the Daily Double) This term for a lucky type of visible electrical discharge is a corruption of Erasmus, a patron saint of sailors. Price answered correctly—St. Elmo's fire.
On top of coming back with her winnings, Price also came back glad for the chance to visit Los Angeles, Ca. to compete in the show.
"I'd never been there before. So it was fun to be there for the first time for what was a unique L.A. experience," Price said.
There is also another trip in Price's future. She said she plans to use some of her Jeopardy winnings to visit a friend in Berlin.
Price who has by shouting out answers to the TV, went away from the show, having accomplished a long-time wish to be on it. And to win three games to boot—well, that's the berries.
