Residents Rescued from Balconies in Lanham Apartment Fire

The fire broke out at a Lanham apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

LANHAM, MD - Residents of a Lanham apartment complex had to be rescued from balconies after a fire broke out on Good Luck Road Tuesday morning.

The Prince George's County 911 Center received several calls reporting an apartment fire in the 9900 block of Good Luck Road. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a three-story garden style apartment building with fire showing from the terrace level.

The fire was extinguished roughly within an hour.

The fire was ruled as accidental with damage estimated at $75,000. No injuries were reported.

A 12-year-old girl is credited with getting her two younger siblings safely out of the fire. W-USA reported. Alone at home, Diana Hernandez safely got her two younger brothers out of the fire.
