Greenbelt Starbucks Price Increases Greater Than in New York City

Despite news reports of an average increase of 1 percent on some Starbucks drinks, in several Greenbelt shops — tall coffee prices jumped up as much as 16 and 20 percent. That's more of a price hike than New York City coffee drinkers saw.

Reuters reported that some drink prices would go up on Tuesday with increases averaging about 1 percent in the U.S. Northeast and Sunbelt regions.

The Washington Post also reported about a 1 percent increase in those regions.

True to predictions, on Tuesday, Starbucks on 291 Broadway in New York City started selling its tall coffee for $2.01, which is 10 cents and 5.2 percent higher than it was on Monday.
