Stop Gap Fix Brings Power Up In Roosevelt Center
While Pepco works to fix an underground cable, they've MacGyvered a solution to bring power up in Roosevelt Center for now.

Power was out in most of Roosevelt Center Wednesday , but a really long extension cord managed to bring many of the businesses back to life by Thursday morning.
On Thursday, Pepco employees were going from manhole to manhole working on a permanent fix to the problem, according to Courtney Nagas, Pepco spokesperson.

But in the meantime, workers made a stop gap fix so shops and locales in the center have lights and power. They ran a cable on top of the ground—called a jumper cable—as a temporary restoration, Nagas said. Temporary power was restored about 2 a.m. Thursday, she reported
Pepco arrived on site to make repairs at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, but around seven Pepco trucks were still lining the area of Roosevelt Center by 8:30 p.m.

The crew had to locate where the underground fault was first, and it took awhile, but they did locate it, Nagas said.
