Teenager Demands Money at Gunpoint from Woman in Car on Ridge Road

An armed teenager approached a woman sitting in her car in Greenbelt.

A teenager allegedly displaying a handgun demanded money from a woman sitting in her car near the 50 Court of Ridge Road at around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Officer Kelly Lawson, Greenbelt Police Department spokeswoman. The suspect approached the victim from the passenger window. 

The woman did not comply and drove away instead.  The driver was not injured, Lawson said.

The suspect is described as a 15- to 17-year old male, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11, thin, with bushy hair, according to Lawson. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded shirt and jeans.

The police investigation is ongoing. Lawson asks that anyone with information contact the Greenbelt Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-542-2133.
