This Week at Greenbelt Farmers Market

Look for cantaloupes, a bike clinic, Mystic Water Soap and a kids' activity on July 8.

With the return of melon season to the region, cantaloupes are expected to be available Sunday, July 8, at the Greenbelt Farmers market.

Market-goers can also drop by a bike clinic on Sunday with their bikes. Proteus Bicycles will offer information on safety, Prince George's County trails, how to change a flat, and beginners' tips.

Take advantage of its bike stand for minor adjustments like brakes, shifting, and seat adjustments. Look through its handouts with free trail maps, safety tips, and a list of suggested safety equipment to keep on your bike. If the clinic is popular, Proteus may be back on a monthly basis.

This week's kid activity is building a cardboard house and creating paper dolls with recycled magazines and boxes. Some craft supplies will be provided, but patrons can help out with donations of shoe boxes, shirt or cereal boxes, brown full-size grocery bags, and magazines.

And Mystic Water Soap will be at the market again.
