7 Hospitalized From Aberdeen House Fire: Officials
Investigators said a house fire in Aberdeen displaced nine people and injured seven.
ABERDEEN, MD — Multiple people were hospitalized after a house fire in Harford County, according to officials. Authorities said the house was declared a total loss.
Nine people lived in the home in the unit block of Valley Bottom Road, where they found the fire at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, according to the fire marshal. Residents tried to extinguish the blaze, and the Aberdeen Police Department tried to put it out with fire extinguishers before firefighters got there.
Flames were coming through the roof of a mobile home when crews arrived, according to the Aberdeen Fire Department, which said firefighters were told people were trapped inside.

Investigators said the fire was under control within 20 minutes.
Seven people were hospitalized for minor injuries, including smoke inhalation, the fire marshal reported.

Crews remained at the scene for three hours, according to the Aberdeen Fire Department, which reported firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company, Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire & Emergency Services and Level Volunteer Fire Company assisted in the response. The Harford County Department of Emergency Services and Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps provided additional medic units, officials said.
There was $75,000 in damage as a result of the blaze, which the fire marshal said originated began outside the home. The cause remains under investigation.
