Duck Drop 2019 Pays Tribute To Firefighter Killed In 2018

The Susquehanna Hose Company rings in the new year at Concord Point with its annual Duck Drop in Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Despite the rain and cancellation of fireworks, the Havre de Grace Duck Drop drew crowds to Concord Point for a spirited gathering to turn the page on 2018. The festivities started at 10 p.m. with music from a DJ, and the Susquehanna Hose Company dropped the duck at the stroke of midnight.

In a new location this year, the duck encountered some technical difficulties. For example, at 11 p.m. the lights did not go on immediately after a countdown. But the duck was soon illuminated for all to see, and it made its journey down from the Susquehanna Hose Company ladder truck.
