Flood Warning Issued For Harford, Cecil Counties
Heavy rain with slow-moving thunderstorms was likely to cause flooding, the National Weather Service warned.
Harford and Cecil counties are under a flood warning Tuesday afternoon as slow-moving thunderstorms roll through the area.
The flood warning is in effect until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8. Forecasters issued the warning after 3:30 p.m. based on storms they saw on the radar.
According to the National Weather Service, radar showed flooding may begin soon in these areas, on top of 1 to 1.5 inches of rain that has already fallen: Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Calvert, Bel Air South, Bel Air North, North East, Rising Sun, Octoraro, Conowingo, Perryville, Port Deposit and Darlington.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northwestern Cecil County until 4:30 p.m. after officials said radar detected a severe thunderstorm with 60 mph winds over Rock Springs.
The storm was about 10 miles north of Havre de Grace and was moving east at 5 mph, according to the warning. It reportedly had hail less than 0.75 inch.
Damaging winds may cause trees and branches to fall, impacting these areas, according to the warning: Calvert, Rising Sun, West Nottingham, Octoraro, Blake, Conowingo, Rock Springs, Lombard, Richardsmere and Farmington.
