Havre de Grace Coronavirus Case Rate Drops Week Over Week: Data

The Harford County Health Department released data Monday showing a decline in coronavirus cases in Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — There have been 794 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the ZIP code 21078 since the beginning of the pandemic, the Maryland Department of Health reported Monday.

Harford County has reported 11,765 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to officials, who say 212 deaths countywide have been attributed to COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.

More than 13 percent of coronavirus cases in Havre de Grace have been in nursing homes.

There have been 106 cases of the virus in Havre de Grace nursing homes to date, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which reported the following data since spring 2020:

  • Citizens Care has had 36 staff cases, 49 resident cases and two residents deaths.
  • Lorien Bulle Rock has had 14 staff cases, seven resident cases and zero deaths.

Each Monday in 2021, the Harford County Health Department updates its coronavirus data by ZIP code for the county.

After Harford County Health Officer Dr. David Bishai last week said Havre de Grace was a "hot spot" for the virus due to its case rate of 134 per 1,000 residents, the rate has appeared to decline.

Data released Monday shows the case rate for the 21078 ZIP code is now 71 per 1,000 residents.
