HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Havre de Grace is starting December with several special holiday events. The city's Christmas parade and holiday tree lighting are taking place Friday on Saint John Street. This year's festivities are being combined with a winter market featuring local merchants on Pennington and Franklin avenues.
The annual Havre de Grace Holiday Parade begins at 6 p.m. on Saint John Street near the Lafayette Statue and travels to Washington Street, where the mayor and Santa will light the city's holiday tree.
Stilt walkers, the Havre de Grace High School chamber singers and 42nd Street Carolers will add to the festivities, and some stores will be staying open late.
