HdG Ranked Among Top High Schools In Baltimore Metro: U.S. News

U.S. News & World Report ranked the best high schools by metro; see how Havre de Grace High School fared in the Baltimore metro area.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Havre de Grace High School ranked among the top 100 in the Baltimore metro area, according to new rankings from U.S. News & World Report. Harford County Public Schools joined Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Howard and Queen Anne's counties as well as Baltimore City in the rankings.

"We've heard from students, parents and school officials that they're interested in seeing how their school compares with others in the community," Robert Morse, chief data strategist at U.S. News, said in a statement accompanying the rankings. "With these new rankings, residents in more than 900 metro areas nationwide can see which local schools are succeeding at educating and graduating their students."

Havre de Grace came in No. 57 among those in the Baltimore metro area.

Other Harford County Public Schools that ranked among the top 70 were Fallston (No. 26), Harford Tech (No. 36), C. Milton Wright (No. 39), Patterson Mill (No.40), Bel Air (No. 43), North Harford (No. 51), Aberdeen (No. 55), Joppatowne (No. 64) and Edgewood (No. 70).

Separate from the publication's annual ranking of the best high schools in the country — published in April — the best high schools by metro area rankings released on Wednesday look at how schools compare to each other in the same region.

U.S. News says it used the same methodology to compile the metro-area rankings as it did for the national rankings.
