Havre de Grace School Calendar 2019–2020: First Day, More

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Students enrolled in Harford County Public Schools start classes Tuesday, Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day. To help you plan, we've rounded up a list of important Harford County Public Schools dates for the coming school year. The calendar includes vacations, early dismissals and more.

Take note: The calendar has 180 scheduled days for students and eight makeup days allotted for inclement weather that will be added to the end of the school year should any closings occur.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

8/14: First day of fall sports

8/17: Care to Share event at 105 Wilson Street

8/20–8/21: New teachers on duty

8/22: Professional development for all teachers

September

9/3: First day for students K-12

9/5: First day for pre-K students

9/27: Three-hour early dismissal; half-day pre-K canceled

9/30: Holiday, schools and offices closed

October

10/9: Schools and offices closed for Yom Kippur

10/17 — Three-hour early dismissal; half-day pre-K canceled

10/18 — Schools closed for Maryland State Education Association Convention

November

11/1: Three-hour early dismissal for students

11/4: Schools closed for students for professional development/elementary conferences

11/8: First quarter ends

11/11: Schools and offices closed for Veterans Day

11/12: Second quarter begins

11/15: First day of winter sports

11/27: Three-hour early dismissal for schools and offices; half-day pre-K canceled

11/28-11/29: Schools and offices closed for Thanksgiving

December

12/13: Three-hour early dismissal for all students; half-day pre-K canceled

12/20: Three-hour early dismissal for schools and offices; half-day pre-K canceled

12/23: Winter break begins; schools and offices closed until 1/2

January

1/1: Schools and offices closed for New Year's Day

1/17: Three-hour early dismissal

6/5: Last day for pre-K (if no inclement weather makeup days used)

6/9: Last day for K-12, fourth quarter/second semester ends (if no inclement weather days used)

6/11: Last day for teachers (if no inclement weather days used)

6/17: Last day for pre-K students (if all inclement weather makeup days are used)
