HdG Halloween Parade 2019: Police Issue Reminders

The Halloween parade and trick or treating at businesses Wednesday evening will transform downtown Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Characters dressed to impress will converge in downtown Havre de Grace Wednesday for the city's annual Halloween parade. In anticipation of the event, the Havre de Grace Police Department issued a couple of reminders for citizens.

Those who will be participating in the Halloween festivities Wednesday should give themselves plenty of time to find parking, police advised.

Drivers should be mindful of the influx of costumed pedestrians that will be out and about.

The parade is a rain-or-shine event. Extra foot traffic will begin in the late afternoon and continue into the evening.

Businesses downtown will offer trick or treating from 4 to 8 p.m.

Registration for the Havre de Grace Halloween Parade opens at 6 p.m. on North Washington Street at Congress Avenue.

Participants will be entered into the parade and costume contest, both of which are sponsored by the Havre de Grace Recreation Committee.

The Havre de Grace Halloween Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of North Washington Street and Congress Avenue. Even if it is raining, the parade will go on.

According to the National Weather Service forecast for Havre de Grace, there's less than a 20 percent chance of rain before 7 p.m. Temperatures will be mild, in the mid 60s.

The likelihood of rain will increase to nearly 50 percent after 8 p.m., and there's more than an 80 percent chance of rain from 11 p.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. on Halloween, based on the Havre de Grace forecast from the National Weather Service.
