Ice Rink Opening Next Week in Havre de Grace

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - The Havre de Grace Ice Skating Rink will open on Black Friday 2016, city officials announced this week.

The synthetic rink is located in Hutchins Park, at the foot of Congress Avenue near the Susquehanna River.

Nonprofit organizations will staff the venue, which will be open from November to January on the dates listed at the end of the article. Approximately 70 percent of the proceeds will go to the organizations that work at the rink.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for those 13 years old and younger. Skate rentals are $5 per person.

This is the second season for the rink, which city officials opened in December 2015.

Here's the schedule for those running the rink:

• Nov. 25-27: Havre de Grace Alliance, Inc.
• Dec. 2-4: Havre de Grace Rec Cheerleading
• Dec. 9-11: Havre de Grace High School PTSA
• Dec. 16-18: Havre de Grace High School Football and Cheer
• Dec. 27: Havre de Grace Independence Day Commission
• Dec. 29: Boy Scouts Venture Crew 1917
• Dec. 30-31: Havre de Grace Little League
• Jan. 1-2: Havre de Grace Rec Basketball
• Jan. 6-8: Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps

Hours are 4-8 p.m. on Fridays; noon-8 p.m. on Saturdays; and noon-6 p.m. on Sundays.

There will be a special noon-8 p.m. schedule from Dec. 26-Jan. 2.
