Karen Green Of Havre de Grace Dies At 67
The Havre de Grace woman was known for her warm spirit.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Karen Green of Havre de Grace died peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 7, according to her obituary. She was 67.
Green graduated from Bel Air High School and went on to graduate with a degree in journalism and English from the University of Maryland College Park.
For 30 years, she worked for Harford County government as a recreation specialist after employment with the MVA and Bel Air High School, where she worked as a driver's ed teacher, her obituary says.

"She just had the best personality," Harford County Councilman Chad Shrodes said at the County Council meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Councilman Curtis Beulah said Green had a "wonderful warm loving spirit."

Green was voted Havre de Grace Patch Person of the Year in 2011. She used to be the chair of the Havre de Grace Housing Authority and has a long list of accolades, such as being the grand marshal for the Havre de Grace Independence Parade and a 15-year-volunteer with SMILES.
In 2010, Green was diagnosed with renal failure, according to her obituary.
She is survived by husband Art Kettell; brothers Gregory Green (Brenda Green), Peter Green and Paul Green; sister Deborah Jackson (Marcellus Jackson); and a host of relatives and friends.
