Late HdG Veteran, Citizen To Be Honored Sunday
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a "pillar" in Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Veterans Day in Havre de Grace this year will see the dedication of a flagpole in honor of a beloved citizen who passed away this year. Noble Mentzer, who lived to 90, was a veteran of both the Army and Navy.
Mentzer was a veteran of the Korean War. When he came home, though, his service didn't end He was a member of the Susquehanna Hose Company, the American Legion Post #47 and the Young at Hearts.
He volunteered at the Decoy Museum and at the Perry Point VA where he was a mentor, and friend, to patients.

Mentzer "was truly a pillar of this community in both word and deed," the city said.
The dedication will be on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at Veteran's Park.
