Monthly Environmental Film Series Comes to Maritime Museum

Havre de Grace Green Team and Maritime Museum have partnered to present the free and open to the public film screenings.

From Havre de Grace Green Team: The Havre de Grace Green Team in partnership with the Environmental Center of the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is proud to announce a monthly screening of films dealing with environmental topics pertinent to our region and globally. With a grant to the Green Team from the Joseph Robert Foundation of Philadelphia, the screenings are free and open to the public. The films will be shown at the Maritime Museum located at 100 Lafayette Street in Havre de Grace. The first film, Jumbo Wild, about the tensions between development and protection of wildlife in the Jumbo Valley of British Columbia, will be screened on June 8 at 7 p.m. with subsequent films to be announced in the near future.

The objective of the film series is to raise awareness and promote discussion about the environmental issues posed by each film. At each month’s screening, the film will be introduced by the Green Team’s education chairman, Karl Ford. Following the film, local film discussion facilitator Jack Hirschfeld will lead a discussion about the film. How do environmental issues depicted in the film impact us here in Harford County, the United States, and globally?
