Police came to the rescue for a boater stranded in the Susquehanna River Saturday night near Cecil County, according to officials.

Before 7 p.m. Saturday, officials said the U.S. Coast Guard was called to help the boater, who had run aground in the Susquehanna Flats.

Because neither marine nor ground crews could get to the boater, officials said a Maryland State Police helicopter came from Martin State Airport.
