Propane Truck Crashed On Tydings Bridge Christmas Eve: Officials

A crash temporarily closed the Tydings Bridge to southbound traffic Thursday night, officials said.

All lanes were closed temporarily on the Tydings Bridge Thursday night to southbound traffic for nearly an hour, according to authorities. Traffic was beginning to flow before 11 p.m.

Two vehicles crashed on I-95 south near mile marker 91, state transportation officials reported at 10:10 p.m.

A propane truck and car collided, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company.

By 10:30 p.m., firefighters said all who were trapped had been freed and were getting medical attention. While hazmat personnel were initially dispatched, officials said they canceled the request because there was no damage to the tanker part of the truck.

One lane on I-95 south reopened before 10:55 p.m. Congestion remained in the area.

By 11:15 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported the crash had cleared.
