Wind Warnings And Wind Restrictions Issued For 4 Maryland Bridges
BREAKING: Drive with care when crossing bridges Monday as strong winds buffet vehicles, transportation officials warn.

Several area bridges are under wind-related advisories Monday afternoon, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The Hatem, Tydings and Key bridges are under wind warnings as of 2:15 p.m., and the Bay Bridge is under wind restrictions.
Winds of 30 to 39 mph trigger wind warnings, transportation officials say. Drivers of the following vehicles should use extra caution while crossing bridges during a wind warning: house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds.
The Bay Bridge is under limited wind restrictions, according to officials.

Limited wind restrictions mean winds are greater than 40 mph and the following are prohibited from crossing: house trailers, empty box trailers or any vehicle that law enforcement officials think may not safely cross the bridge. Drivers denied passage will be assisted with turning around.
State transportation officials urge drivers to keep both hands on the wheel and slow down during periods of strong winds.
