15th Annual 'Shop With A Cop' Comes To Baltimore County

100 cops and a their buddies will shop for Christmas presents and have breakfast at Outback in Cockeysville on December 10.

From Baltimore County: This year marks the 15th annual "Shop with a Cop" program in Baltimore County. At 7:30 a.m. on December 10, 100 police officers and 110 children will leave precincts from around Baltimore County to participate in the event.

Officers and children will drive to the Walmart store in Cockeysville. Members of the Optimist Clubs will greet them as holiday music is performed by Dulaney High School students.

The children and their officer “buddies” will do holiday shopping with money provided by the Optimist Clubs of Baltimore County. Each child receives $100 to spend as he or she chooses. Usually, the children buy presents for family and friends.

After shopping, the officers and children will drive to the Outback restaurant in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre for breakfast. (Outback provides the breakfast.)

A special Baltimore County Police Department tradition, the BCoPD “Shop with a Cop” event is the largest in the state.

The Department looks forward each year to doing its part to give families a happy holiday. The event also gives children a chance to know their local police officers.
