Cockeysville Students Win Timonium Optimists Speech Contest
The students, who attend St. Joseph School in Cockeysville, won the contest Monday.

Twelve students competed Monday in the Optimists Club of Timonium Oratorical Contest, but ultimately it was two students from St. Joseph's School in Cockeysville who won.
Ian Michael Moore and Mary Norris earned the top honors in the contest, according to a news release from the club.
As a result both will compete in the Maryland/South Delaware Optimists Clubs Zone 6 Oratorical Contest—another win would secure them a spot at the District Contest, held in Ocean City, where they would have a chance to compete for a $2,500 scholarship, the release states.
"Ian and Mary did a wonderful job presenting their speeches on the question posed to them," said club president Raymond "Skip" Sheeler. "The members of our Optimist Club have no doubt that Ian and Mary each [have] a bright future ahead."
