The 11th annual Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs is today. Spend a day in the beautiful Baltimore County countryside, watch horses race and enjoy activities for the whole family. Maybe even win a car! The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends 6 p.m.
"Proceeds from this event benefit GBMC HealthCare. Over the last 10 years, the event and associated car raffle have generated over $880,000 to benefit the hospital," as the event's website states.
The five races carry a total purse of $50,000.

Tickets are sold out but $35 general admission passes can still be purchased between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at The Filling Station at the corner of Falls and Shawan roads.
