National Frozen Custard Day, Probably Didn't Win Powerball, Grand Opening Saturday

All you need to know to get you through Thursday, August 8.

It's Thursday, August 8. Here's all you need to know.

Weather:
Well, it was a good run, but it's been too nice for August—expect the gray days to continue. This forecast shows a chance of thunderstorms and humidity moving in through Saturday. Sunday, though, looks to be partly cloudy with just an evening thunderstorm in store.

What You're Saying: Reader Tim Longo is sick of looking at the crumbling Cockeysville Distillery building, which is in the process of being demolished by Baltimore County.

He wrote: "Not down yet! Can't wait to have a view of Cockeysville south of that horrible eye sore!"

Got something you want to say? Something you want to sell? Post it on our boards or leave a comment on a story! Who knows? Maybe we'll feature it in one of these round-ups.

What's Happening? NAPA Auto Parts is holding a grand-opening for their new Cockeysville store on Saturday. Check out the details about the event on the announcement they posted.

Got an event you're trying to promote? Whether it's registration for little league or a show your band is playing, a great way to start would be adding it to the Hunt Valley-Cockeysville Patch events calendar.

What Did You Miss? You might not know, but you can earn double punches toward free Italian ice at Rita's today thanks to National Frozen Custard Day.

Who Beat The Odds? If somehow you have a $425M winner in last night's Powerball drawing, you did. How bad were they? Worse than your chances of being attacked by a shark, among other things. Check out this article from North Baltimore Patch.
