Telesma Closes Out KarmaFest at Oregon Ridge (Photos)

Patricia Hawse first discovered holistic medicine when she was volunteering for the American Red Cross in post-Katrina Louisiana.

Although she wasn't into at first, Hawse experienced the power of yoga and meditation first-hand during some stressful times.

Since then, Hawse has worked to spread the word about those disciplines and other forms holistic medicine. Her signature event, KarmaFest, was held for the eighth time in Maryland on Saturday, May 25, at Oregon Ridge Park.

The festival featured live music, yoga, meditation, belly dancing, hooping, lectures, massage, poetry, chanting and more.
