Trick or Trot 5K Set for Oct. 27

A 5K race through the Irvine Nature Center will be held later this month to benefit a work trip for "Mission: I'm Home" student volunteer group.

Trick or Trot begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 27, and registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m., according to a news release from Stevenson University.

It costs $10 per Stevenson University student, and $20 for others. An additional $5 is charged for registration on event day, the release states.

Proceeds will help pay for 85 people to travel to New Orleans to rebuild New Orleans homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina, it states.

The race begins at 11201 Garrison Forest Road.

Register online. 

If you're in the race, coordinators hope you'll wear costumes. Prizes will be given for best costume, the top male and female students and the top non-student finishers, it states.

"The group works with the St. Bernard Project and Habitat for Humanity to help rebuilding efforts in devastated communities," according to the release.
