1st Degree Murder Charge For Hyattsville Man: Report

Prince George's County Police have charged a Hyattsville man with first degree murder in connection with a Dec. 27 fatal shooting.

HYATTSVILLE, MD -- Prince George's County Police detectives arrested a suspect in a December fatal shooting in Hyattsville, according to a police report. Police charged Tysheek Judkins, 20, with first degree murder in the death of Deshawn Ramsey, 20, of Cockeysville, Maryland.

On Dec. 27, around 9:30 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to 3500 block of Dean Drive in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville to the report of a shooting. Officers found Ramsey in an apartment suffering from multiple gunshots. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed that Judkins shot Ramsey during an illegal drug transaction, according to police.

Judkins later turned himself in to the Department of Corrections. He has been charged with first degree murder and related charges.
