BLOTTER: Sept. 5-11

The Hyattsville Police blotter for one week.

Below is the Hyattsville police blotter from the week of Sept. 5. It is the most recent blotter that the department has put out.

Sept. 5:

Two thefts from autos, one at 3300 East West Highway and one at the 6500 block of Belcrest Road. During the night someone broke into cars parked in these areas and stole items from inside.

At the 5800 block of 30th Avenue, sometime between 3 and 4 a.m., someone threw a rock through the window of the victim's storm door at Garfield Park. Police said the suspect is unknown and it is not yet known if this incident is related to a string of home robberies that happened over the summer, HPD spokesman Sgt. Greg Phillips said.

At the 7100 block of Adelphi Road, about 4 a.m., two unknown suspects robbed someone at gunpoint in front of her home.

At the 5100 block of 43rd Avenue, sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., someone attempted to kick in the front door of an apartment in this area.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 4:45 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the 6500 block of America Boulevard, about 9:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight.

At Lancer Drive and Jamestown Road, about 10:00 p.m., as the victim walked in this area, six unknown suspects approached him. One of the suspects punched the victim several times and took his wallet. The group then fled up Jamestown Road toward Nicholson Street

Sept. 6:
At the 2600 block of Nicholson Street, overnight, someone stole a parked 1997 Lincoln Continental.

At the 5900 block of 31st Avenue, overnight, someone damaged the driver's side door lock of a vehicle.

At the 5900 block of 31st Avenue, overnight, someone broke into a parked vehicle and stole property.

At the 3300 block of East West Highway, about 3 p.m., an employee of a store in this area was arrested for stealing cash from the store.

Sept. 7:

At the 5900 block of 31st Avenue, between Sept. 3 and 7, someone damaged the ignition on a parked vehicle in an apparent attempt to steal it.

At the 5100 block of 41st Avenue, between 1 and 9 a.m., someone stole a scooter from a parking lot.

At the 4000 block of Hamilton Street, between 9:45 a.m. and noon, someone broke into a residence and stole property.

At the 4700 block of Braxton Place, between 11:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., someone slashed a tire on a parked vehicle.

At the 3800 block of Jefferson Street, about 1:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 8:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

At the 5600 block of Jamestown Road, overnight, someone slashed a tire, broke the windshield and broke the driver's side window of a parked vehicle.

At the 3600 block of East West Highway, about 1:45 a.m., two victims were robbed by an unknown suspect who exited a gold Nissan Maxima and displayed a shotgun.

At the 3600 block of Hamilton Street, between 2:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., someone broke into a business in this area by breaking a window. Although the business was ransacked, it was unknown at the time of the report whether anything had been taken.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 1:15 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

Near the Mall at Prince George's, about 7:00 p.m., two suspects were arrested for shoplifting from a gas station convenience store in this area.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 8:00 p.m., two suspects were arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

Sept. 9:

At the 2800 block of Nicholson Street, between Sept. 6 and 9, someone entered an apartment in this area and stole property.

At the 4700 block of Rhode Island Avenue, overnight, someone slashed tires on four parked vehicles.

At the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road, at the Shell gas station, about 8:15 a.m., someone stole the victim's purse while she was pumping gas.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 5 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

Sept. 10:

At the 3800 block of Hamilton Street, overnight, someone stole the front tag from a parked vehicle.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 7 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.

Sept. 11:

At the 3900 block of Kennedy Street, between 1 and 8 a.m., someone entered a parked vehicle and stole property.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 2:30 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store in the mall. She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (crack pipe) and found to have an open warrant for theft through the Prince George's County Sheriff's Department.

At the Mall at Prince George's, about 3 p.m., a suspect was arrested for shoplifting from a store inside.
