Bowie Goes Solar With Community Initiative
By going green with a group of Bowie residents, homeowners can save 30 percent on solar panels.
After the first completely electric car was added to Bowie for employee use, the city is continuing its efforts to go green.
Powered by the City of Bowie, Community Power Network and CPN’s project MD Sun, the Bowie Solar Co-op will make it financially possible for homeowners to save 30% on solar panel systems.
The group of participants will select a contractor to install the systems. Although this is a buying in bulk method to save on cost, every person will have a separate contract and time of installation.

Bowie residents, as well as those residing in neighboring communities, are welcome to join the process.
There are two scheduled informational meetings so residents can learn more about the solar panels and the process of getting them.
