With that in mind, Patch editor Sarah Nemeth signed up for the Giant Gas Rewards program to see just how much she could save at the pump.

It's pretty simple -- the next time you go to for your grocieries, take a look at the bottom of your receipt (The cashiers also usually point this out to you when you cash out) and see how many gas points you have.

Once you spend enough money at Giant and use your Giant card (bonus card) you can earn up to $2.20 / gallon off at participating Shell stations. 

All you have to do is stop at a (the location at Hamilton Street & Queens Chapel Road participates), select "Giant card" on the screen at the pump, swipe your Giant card and then pay and pump away.
