City Council Meets Tonight
The Hyattsville council is expected to talk about its priorities for the coming months.

Mayor William Gardiner and the Hyattsville City Council are scheduled to discuss a number of housekeeping items tonight at their regular meeting at 8 p.m.
Here are some of the items on the agenda:
*A request for appointments for 125th Anniversary Task Force;

The city's 125th anniversary will be celebrated during 2011.
*Election practices and procedures - schedule public meeting for 7 p.m. on Oct. 18;

The meeting will allow the council to hear feedback from the experts on city staff and stakeholders in our community about city election practices and procedures in order to determine if any procedural changes should be made before the May 2011 city election.
*Compensation Review Committee 2011;
This would be a seven-person group to review and make recommendations on the compensation that should be offered to the mayor that is elected in the next municipal election and all city council members serving during the upcoming four-year term.
The council is also expected to discuss workload containment and a list of its priorities for the fall.
