Despite being a federal holiday today, the city of Hyattsville does not take a day off for Columbus Day.
"The City is open for business on Monday, October 8. There are no changes to trash collection the week of October 8; please place your refuse out for collection on your regularly scheduled day," reads a note from the city's website.Â
Regular trash isn't collected on Mondays, but yard waste is.Â

Municipal office hours are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
