Evacuation Plan: Do You Know How To Get Out?

It’s possible that the Washington, D.C. area may be evacuated as comes down hard on the east coast.

Have you ever used an evacuation route?

You might want to be prepared with a way out incase you’re forced to leave. And if you are, you may want to be leading the pack, or you just might not get out.

From Hyattsville, a direct route west of the area is:

• West on East West Highway;

• Take Adelpi Road north to New Hampshire Avenue;

• Head north on New Hampshire and onto Route 495;

• Take the Beltway (495) west toward Silver Spring;

• Go north and west on Route 270.
