Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here DC 2016 is a region-wide literary and cultural festival that takes its name from and examines Al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad, noted for its many bookstores and outdoor bookstalls where people have gathered for generations as a great humanitarian center.
Our exhibition presents over 100 prints, broadsides, and artists books that commemorate the 2007 bombing of Baghdad’s historic bookselling street and celebrates the free exchange of ideas.
