A Hyattsville man won $100,000 playing Lady Luck scratch-off. He plans to use the money to help with his son's college fund.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — A Hyattsville man claimed the first $100,000 top prize on the Lady Luck instant ticket, the Maryland Lottery announced Tuesday.

“This truly is a blessing,” the man said. “I got my son and now I won big, which will help with his college fund.”

The man purchased the bright-pink Maryland lottery scratch-off while visiting his local 7-Eleven. The retailer, located at 900 Chillum Rd. in Hyattsville, earned a $1,000 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.
