Hyattsville City Council President Matt McKnight (Ward 3), lights the city holiday tree during a brief ceremony at Magruder Park last night.Â
The tree is a 15-foot-tall Frasier Fir bought from Benkhe's Nursery in Beltsville for $400 and decorated with simple white LED lights.Â
The ceremony featured carols, hot chocolate, cookies, and a visit from Santa Claus himself.
