Hyattsville Woman Dies In Fatal D.C. Shooting
A 25-year-old woman from Hyattsville died from multiple gunshot wounds in Northeast Washington Wednesday evening.

WASHINGTON, DC — A Hyattsville woman was killed in a shooting in Northeast Washington Wednesday evening, police said.
The shooting occurred at about 6:50 p.m. in the 5200 Block of Just St., NE. Police identified the victim as Danjellicca Ball, 25.
Responding officers found Ball unconscious and unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased, police said.

Residents of the neighborhood where the shooting happened told WTOP they want more police patrols in the area because of the known drug dealing that occurs.
“There’s always something going on. Always somebody fussing with somebody,” resident David Smith told WTOP. “Somebody says something bad to somebody else — or something that somebody else didn’t like. And then — boop — there you go, just as simple as that.”

Also on Wednesday night, two men were shot in the 3800 block of 8th St. SE. Another man was shot in the 1300 block of Potomac Ave. SE. In Northeast, a man was shot in the 450 block of 6th Place. The four men are all conscious and breathing, police said.
Police offer a $25,000 reward to anyone that provides information that leads to a conviction in Ball's murder. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
