Labor Daze

It is not often that you get to take your dog to a waterfall. But Toby has been pretty close to two in his five-year-life.

When he was a baby, I took him swimming in the Niagara rapids – the fast-moving water above Niagara Falls. There's a great walking trail with rocks for him to climb on that runs down the north side of the river in the City of Niagara Falls, NY, my hometown.

This week, Toby got to enjoy a walk down the trails along Great Falls, in northern Virginia.

Sunday was a beautiful day to amble along the sandy trails, which run through the forests at Great Falls Park in McLean.

After waiting nearly an hour in traffic just to get into the park – it was Labor Day weekend – we sniffed around and took some photos.
