Man Carjacked Outside Hyattsville Planet Fitness: Reports

HYATTSVILLE, MD — A man was carjacked outside of a gym in Hyattsville last week, according to reports.

The man left the Planet Fitness gym on Landover Road at about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 6 to find his car, wallet and cellphone were stolen, NBC Washington reports.

Police said security camera footage appeared to show an armed man committing the robbery.

Planet Fitness sent NBC Washington this statement in response to the incident:

“The safety and security of our members is our top priority, and we have been working closely with the Hyattsville Police in their ongoing investigation of this situation. For additional information, we direct you to the local authorities.”
