Rescued Hurricane Harvey Cat Needs Fur-Ever Home

A Prince George's County animal shelter is looking for a home for Autumn the cat, who was rescued from Houston during Hurricane Harvey.

MOUNT RAINER, MD — A Prince George's County animal shelter brought 17 cats from Houston to Brentwood during Hurricane Harvey, and all but one of those furry friends have been adopted.

Alley Cat Rescue is looking for a forever home for Autumn the cat. She is an "energetic and adventurous tortie girl" who loves to play ball and cuddle, the animal shelter says.

The organization traveled down to Houston and helped with rescue efforts after the devastating storm. Alley Cat Rescue rescued 40 cats that were in local shelters to free up space for cats displaced by the hurricane. They also donated supplies to the shelters and helped organize donations. An Alley Cat Rescue team even paddle-boarded through the storm to rescue people and pets left behind.
