Route One Market Study: The Basics

Here are a few facts about the proposed study, which intends to cull data about the local economy and how development plays into it.

What follows is information taken from memoranda and documents from the Hyattsville City Council.

  • The study will provide benchmark data to evaluate the impacts of recent investment in the Route One corridor as well as potential impacts that may created by the in Riverdale Park.
  • The is requesting $5,000 for the study from Hyattsville, University Park, Riverdale Park, and College Park and the office of County Executive Rushern Baker, as well as other parties.
  • If the City of Hyattsville were to commission a similar market study independently, we would bare all the costs, which would likely be as much as $30,000.
  • The CDC is required to commence executing the agreed-upon activities under this agreement within 10 weeks of execution of the memorandum of understanding.
  • A delivery date for the Final Market Study will be established within 90 days of the executed MOU.
