Shooting Death Of Adelphi Teen Under Investigation: PG Police

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department are investigating the shooting death of a Maryland teen in Chillum, according to a police release.

On Friday, Feb. 28, around 2:05 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check in the 6600 block of Chillum Manor Road. Arriving on the scene, officers found the victim lying in a wooded area and suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Nelson Leon-Umana, 19, of Adelphi, Maryland, was pronounced dead on the scene.
