Tartaro Calls for Hiring Advisory Committee

Hyattsville Mayor Marc Tartaro said that he wants to create a resident committee to participate in the hiring of new city administrator. Tartaro's idea for a resident advisory committee was aired in an article in The Gazette.

, however, expressed reservations about a resident advisory committee, saying that any such committee members should have backgrounds in the jobs for which they are hiring.

Tartaro also , perhaps as early as April. 

Tartaro also told The Gazette that the city will be looking closer to home when it moves to fill vacancies, noting that recent out-of-area hires all ended up leaving the city within a year. His comments were presumably made before he knew of   

In a brief interview following last night's City Council meeting, Tartaro said Ryan resigned to take a job in Illinois where his family still lives.
