There are undoubtedly several creative uses for the property and I'm interested in finding out what Hyattsville residents , and particularly my neighbors in West Hyattsville, are thinking. Another school (private? charter?) would be an obvious solution.Â
Some have mentioned a community/recreation center, though it seems the City has taken a long time figuring out to do with some of the other properties it has acquired I suppose some sort of residential development might be feasible however any large multi-family project would likely meet strong opposition.Â

It is a quiet neighborhood with narrow streets and even the traffic from the relatively small school was disruptive, especially when parents "running late" would tear up and down the streets at 40 mph and above.Â
The immediate concern is the potential for trouble created by having a large abandoned building in a residential neioghborhood. Anyway I hope perhaps there is a story here and that the story spurs some positive action.
