What's Open, Closed in PG County on Columbus Day 2015

Monday is the Columbus Day holiday, which brings a mix of government openings and closings.

CITY OF BOWIE:

Monday is a regular work day for the City of Bowie government. All offices and facilities are open regular hours and trash and recycling will be picked up according to the normal Monday schedule.

All Prince George’s County Public Schools are open Monday.

Prince George’s County government offices are closed on Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day, with the exception of the facilities and operations noted below:

CLOSED:

• Animal Services Facility, (3750 Brown Station Road)
• No Bulky Trash Collection (By appointment only); collection will resume Tuesday

OPEN:

• Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
• Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center
• Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site (Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
• Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site (Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary
• Landfill)
• Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
• Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility
• Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas
• Curbside Recycling Collection

In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Monday, October 12, and will return to normal operations on Tuesday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
